i think it was because it was a look into what the future will be like(not)...also the voilence probably played a big part...i love the hunger games series...but i couldn't really tell you why!!!but my grandchildren are for sure going to read these books:)
why do you need an explanation? If you don't like it or think it is too great why worry about it?
