Gretchen So you think it would be an alternative to history as apposed to a future occurrence?
The book you mentioned sounds interesting. I only know about Lindbugh in regards to his kidnapping case having studied that some. So was he a fascist in real life?

Ray Yes. It seems to me that the events in The Hunger Games are set in an alternative present. So I then worked back 74 years to figure out what might have happened.

Lindburgh was a regular visitor to Germany. He was sympathetic to the way Hitler was dealing with the "Jewish problem" at the time.

Have you seen the film J Edgar? The Lindburgh kidnapping case is referenced.

Gretchen I did. Hoover himself that's a whole other interesting character. I did look up the book you mentioned. I may have to look into the case. The kidnapping of the Limbaugh baby was such a botched case. So many conspiracies surround it.

Ray Yep. Lindburgh was already a national hero and then the kidnapping made him even more famous. There were certainly flaws in his thinking however.

The Hunger Games film certainly has a kind of fascist "feel" about. The architecture etc is reminiscent of NAZI Germany.
