I completely agree! The people who are just stupidly hating aren't going to have a coherent argument. The people who have never read a book cannot discuss at length about why they dislike it. It is a bit of a pet peeve of mine for Twilight-lovers to say "Oh, you dislike it. I bet you've only seen the movies" or "I bet you've never read the book". Some people like to analyze books and explain why they like and dislike something.
So what if people like to discuss the social affect a book can have on people? It's not just something that's a series, it's something that was (and somewhat still) considered a phenomenon! I knew a handful of friends that seemed to begin to take relationship tips from that romance and it disturbed me.
Articles began popping up over stupid girls dumping their boyfriends because they weren't "like Edward". I don't have a problem with people liking it, but it irks me when someone holds the relationship in high regard as some beautiful and perfect thing.
