Well, actually u could die. That's why Dumbledore said only people 17 years old could enter their name.
But in a normal Triwizard Tournament, u probably don't encounter Voldemort
yeah, but in the book, they were discussing this and Ron and Hermionie said that dumbledore was going to save them from the water if no-one made it out.
Yes, but in past years people have died and that is why they didn't do it for a long time
