Viola I posted a comment to you in the other thread. Did you read all three books? My thoughts are on the other thread...

Ericka Smith No, I hadn't read the other books. I found it in poor taste and had no desire to continue. Sex therapists are readily available if someone wants to explore. This book is like second hand smoke ;)

Ericka Smith I took many sex therapy classes in my graduate programs and the S & M is not even believable. The encounters with the "hero"
were twisted. I assure you, this character is mentally unstable and disturbing. This is not good sex or anything else for that
matter. Many high status men engage in similar sexual antics but as stressed out as they are they do not come close to this "hero".

Ericka Smith Men who enjoy bondage and such typically do it for releAse if stress and also personal gratification. The emotional games, control, stalking etc is way over the top- for most men. Who wants to date an asshole? Who wants to be "property? Who wants their lover to become a pseudo parent?

Viola I read a few articles/reviews by sex therapists (one was in the Huffington Post), and they thought it was fine.

I respect your opinion, although I disagree. That said, I'm glad that you read at least one of the books because there is nothing that bothers me more than a person who spouts off their opinion on something they haven't even read.

I wonder if you would feel the same if you read all three books. I've said to many that I liked the first book, but once I got into the 2nd and 3rd, I enjoyed seeing Christian's transformation and hearing his therapist's take on things. It was interesting.

Viola I hope that didn't sound snarky. You are one of the few people who have disliked the books who have read some or part of the book, and I appreciate that. :)

Ericka Smith No, not at all Viola :) Let me think it over and give all the reasons I don't care for this book. I'm on my way home from work- exhausted so will probably be tomorrow. I like your tenacity lol.

Viola Ericka, I am still wondering what you would think if you read all three. I only say that because I do see your points here, and I wonder how you would feel seeing him change and hearing his own admission of his faults. It's interesting.

I can be a bit tenacious at times, but I try to be nice and not too snarky. I'm an English teacher, and like I always tell my kids, you may not be able to persuade everyone to do things or change their opinions all the time. The goal, however, is to be heard, so be respectful.
