What are your favourite time periods?
I tend not to think of time in the focus of dates, but of geologic scales: and to answer that, the Phanerozoic Era from Cambrian to Holocene; though I believe the "Anthropocene" is a bit arrogant of us.
Or rather, Ancient Greece/Egypt; then after the rise of Rome, I prefer the East (China/Japan) until the Norse go to America, and then Native/South/North American mythos, because I just dislike the 500- 1500 in the "Dark Ages" of Europe; I have mixed and mild feelings for the Renaissance, then I greatly love our own "modern" dates of 1700 AD till now - and I love a lot of science fiction so I can't wait to see what we do next.
