Who's Harriet?
People can break the cycle of abuse. It is difficult without support but Harriet had her best friend who helped faked her death. Knowing someone would do anything to protect you helps counterattack the actions of people that hurt you. Because of that she was still able to trust there are good people out there. Cycle can be broken and Harriet was able to move on.
