I agree, David. The Stand, Swan Song by Robert MacCammon, The Talisman by King and Straub, The Day of the Jackel by Frederick Forsyth and maybe The Keep by F. Paul Wilson would be my top 5
I am reading The Day of the Jack at the moment and I am blown away!
That was the first book I read in one day. Loved it, and the movie is pretty darn good too.
