You have some good thoughts too.
9) Being part mutt wouldn’t make him evil or anything. My suspicions that he is more than just a regular cat (or more likely, received help from someone) arose because he supposedly accomplished three amazing feats in his journey. 1. He started underground, as far as we know, locked in a room in District 13. He had to escape from a virtual prison. 2. He traveled from 13 to 12, amid the horrors of the wilderness we know today plus alterations of a post-nuclear age PLUS the stuff the capital released into the wild to keep the districts in check. 3. Once in 12, he went to the new house, which he never liked, instead of going to the ashes of the old home. Maybe the Mutt thing is a little far flung, but it does make sense to me that Prim would have left him in the care of somebody (likely a refugee from 12) when she left to fight in the war, and that person (possibly Greasy Sae or her granddaughter) could have brought him along when they moved back.
11 was a continued thought from 10) He is an unimportant character, why even bring him up? An un-named volunteer would have given us hope for the new society, but instead we get a neglected teenager digging up what’s left of his family and friends.
13) Maybe you’re right, the guy situation shouldn’t have been a cliffhanger. The reason for the choice at the end did make a lot of sense. But Collins had made a cliffhanger out of nearly every chapter of the entire series, and I cannot help that feel when book three was about three quarters complete she realized she had to take us somewhere, and started trying to point the story too much. I think if she had left it hanging in some way, given it less closure, it would have worked out better. As it is, I feel a little disappointed with the ending. Hence the long list of thoughts.

Yeah, they are good thoughts. And I do agree the end of Mockingjay at least seemed a little rushed - it definitely wasn't as good as the first 2 books. Sorry about my extra long reply. :]
#6- I could see them telling peeta just to further torment him...and they thought he couldn't tell b/c he was brainwashed- remember how he had to struggle so hard to get the words out?
#9- you hear stories all the time about cats making crazy trips back home like that- I think the record is 850 miles...makes buttercup's trip look like a stroll! :)
