Kevin well, maybe. But the world that Atwood describes, seems to have a strong "moral Code" -- just a frightening one. Moral Codes are fine for those that "write them"

Scott you must be pretty brave to argue that "society has gotten more out of control ... because this country has moved away from any absolute moral code" in a discussion forum for this book

Jill Starr Question: Does anyone believe that masterbation is "evil," in God's eyes and why (?) Does it make a person "weak"? Does it make a person "bad" (?) SHould a person be embarrassed by underrtaking this action (?)( What is your opinions(?) Thank you very much, I am interested in understanding the concept better. WOuld God think it better I wonder if I went out with many sexual partners? Or masterbate if alone for 20 years (?) JIll Starr

Sonja Jill: It used to be believed that, before the invention of the microscope, that little people existed inside sperm. So if a man masturbated, they were killing the future population.
