Hayley I agree he did feek sorry at the end but by the end of the book I had actually got really bored of it, it was a rather dull read. I did enjoy the storyline I just think Dickens could have made it much shorter :)

Donna Actually, Pip feels sorry from the very beginning of the book because he is looking back on what happened to him to bring him to his current state. It was a wonderful device that Dickens used,in showing us Pip's regretful feelings right from the start so that no matter how awful he behaved, we could sympathize and root for him. Who among us has not done things we are ashamed of? Dickens took what could have been an unsympathetic character and made the reader care about him.
