I haven't come across anyone "in-your-face" yet, because I am new to this website. I LOVE it though. Some of the reviews are hilarious and highly entertaining to say the least. I just wonder at the hate for Stephanie Meyers...she wrote a book that did well. So what if she didn't write it well enough to be a literary genius. It was her first completed book and practice makes perfect (ooooh, sorry, I used the dreaded cliche). If I were SM, and came to see all the horrible things people were saying about my writing, character, etc, I would probably need to get on anti-depressants and stay in bed crying for a month before I could have a postive outlook on life again. I mean, geez, I feel sorry for her at this point. All you psuedo-intellectuals out there: give a girl a break.
stay off the boards or you might get crucified. Or develop a very thick skin. Gahhh...it gets vicious. All I can say about SM is she's laughing all the way to the bank (there's my dreaded cliche, lol) and she can do whatever she wants for the rest of her life. So I'm sure she doesn't waste time reading bad reviews! And if she does, she could probably just respond like this "did YOU write a book that's a bestseller a million or so times over and did you make a billion dollars or so? Hmm, didn't think so." Not that she would say that, but she could. :)
Good advice. Message boards ..ick!!! Ben there done that and lived to tell the tale.
You may be right about Stephanie Meyers. She did do very well....
