I was also angry at first but then I thought of how cleverly done it was. It was so well incorporated though. It all made sense in the end.
You were not made a fool because if you reread (even selected random parts) you will find that many clues were there (though I don't remember read it ages ago).
So its not a like "cheap trick" made fool but a more "cleverly contrived" made fool.
Reread selected parts. You will know what I am talking about.
