Umm I never thought of it in that way. When I was reading if for extra credit I kept thinking it was more about human's and their self-distructive behavior.
You're not wrong, those particular examples were ones I saw when I read it.
I HATED this book. Mary Shelley herself if interesting, I'm reading her bio, but this book was plain awful. I was highl annoyed the entire time. My son read his Jr version with me and liked it very much.
