Zenei I cried the first day of kindergarden because I couldn't read and I refused (yes at five years old) to go back until I knew how to read. Between my mom and my 11 year old brother I learned in 3 days. My first book was about a boy who had special powers. unbelievably Unbelievably I don't remember the name of the book but I have been reading a book ever since then. I chose my next book before I finish the current and have done this non-stop , without one single break, for over 40 years. I will read anything... the ingrediants on food boxes. the labels on containers. I read the entire set of encyclopedias when I was nine years old. People who knew me thought I actually lived in the building that had a second-hand book store on the bottom floor... I would go on (there's lots more) but I think you get the point... I LOVE TO READ! Why? I don't know....

Karen Too Funny! I came home from my first day of kindergarten and said "And I didn't even learn to read!" Reading is fantastic! I would pick a book over TV most any day. I, too, read one book after the other. If I go a day without starting a new book, it drives me crazy!

Zenei Hi Karen,

Do you find that the more you read the more discriminate you become? It saddens me to know that so many books I read when I was younger (and enjoyed)I probably wouldn't give the time of day now. Now, I seem to read with a certain amount of scepticism and am much more impatient with a book than I've been in the past. Now for every ten books I read, I will not finish at least two and only really enjoy one or two. So much harder to please now... :-(

Karen I definitely try to pick books that interest me but very rarely don't finish one. My husband laughs at me because I will read a book that I don't like thinking that it has to get better and I might miss something.
