This is a great question. I know both Ranger and Morelli care and love Stephanie. But being in love with her is a whole different thing. I personally don't think that Joe is. I think he cares for her and is just used to having to worry about her.

they keep saying they lover her. Ranger loves her in is own way.
I think that Ranger might be hopeless and Stephanie is the closest to loving and committing as he can get. I think Morelli does but has such a hard time with the marriage part that that is the only thing holding him back. I think Morelli is evolving though, and that he is getting closer and closer to reaching the point of maturity to settle down once and for all. I think that Stephanie in the back of her mind keeps Ranger on the side as a buffer until Morelli is ready to fully commit. Once he does, Stephanie won't have a problem walking away from Ranger for good.

Katrina: I think Morelli and Stephanie are re living their teen years by getting involved as adults. Morelli and Stephanie weren't friends growing up, they just had two encounters. I think both attracted to each other for different reasons. Morelli because Stephanie is different from the other women in the burg. And, Stephanie because of her rebellion and attracted to bad boys.

Chinablue: Interesting view. I think Morelli and Stephanie wouldn't make a good married couple. Stephanie could never adjust to be a typical burg housewife. I think if Stephanie knew Ranger's past she would be more comfortable making a decision which man she wants to be with.
