Terri Armstrong That is my exact question as well. What was the inspiriation for Grandma Mazur. She's by far the best character in your books.

LiteraryMarie Grandma Mazur is the most enjoyable character in the series.

Terri Armstrong I truly love them all. Her father who barely says a word unless it's to complain. Her mother who's always doing the sign of the cross and feeding people. Her sister with her kids, Joe the sexy cop, Ranger the even sexier bounty hunter, Connie the receptionist with a gun in her desk drawer, Vinnie, Stephanie's low-life cousin, Lulu her self-proclaimed, "sexy" sidekick, Stephanie, the jelly donut lover herself and of course Grandma Mazur...the best there is. That blue-haired spit fire keeps me crackin' up!!

Mum2abc Janson loved her too!! my absolute FAVOURITE moment in any book i have ever read was when Grandma shot the Turkey!!! I was reading it at work at the time and LOL!!!

Terri Armstrong The get-ups she wears after she talks to Lulu crack me up as well. But she will have to go a long way to out do shooting the turkey. I love that the books are such easy reading, before you know it, it's over and you are salivating for the next one. I haven't read them all nor have I read them in order, but they crack me up no matter which one I'm reading. Whoever they get to play these characters in the movie better match the characters in the books or there are going to be some very angry dissapointed fans!

message 6: by Sonya (new)

Sonya If you read her early stuff she has a character called "Elsie Hawkins" who she says was her prototype for Grandma Mazur.

message 7: by Sharold (new)

Sharold I love Grandma M.

message 8: by Terri (new)

Terri Armstrong Sonya, Do you mean before the Stephanie Plumb books? Can you tell me some of the titles? I'd love to read them. Thank you.

message 9: by Lena (new)

Lena English I know that there are other "old lady with a gun" characters in some of your other books, and I like how they all seem to tie together. I have always wondered about this one myself. Parts of these characters remind me of my late Great Grandma.

message 10: by Monica (new)

Monica Albright I want to know this too...because if I didn't know better, I'd think that you met my grandma before she passed away and based Grandma Mazur on my grandma!

message 11: by Terri (new)

Terri Armstrong Grandma Mazur doesn't remind me of anyone I know or knew, but I sure would like to be like her when I'm older! LOL. That would be some cool stuff!!

message 12: by Mary (new)

Mary Kay Grandma Mazur is my mother, reborn!

message 13: by Terri (new)

Terri Armstrong My mother as well, but minus the gun. Although, if she'd had the oppportunity to weild one, I have no doubt she would have and very well I might add. LOL

message 14: by Janet (new)

Janet Evanovich Grandma Mazur is based on my Aunt Lena and my Grandma Fanny. They both had a wonderful joy for life, and Aunt Lena actually went to funeral viewings just like Grandma Mazur.

message 15: by Terri (new)

Terri Armstrong Grandma Mazur has so many facets to her and what I find so fascinating with your writing, Janet is how she keeps "growing". To clairfy, whenever a new "habit" or "character flaw" comes to light, I feel like I already know because the transition into discovery of said habit is effortless, seemless and so much fun to discover. Best of luck as you continue your journey through the world of literature. Yours is a name that will be known for many, many, many years to come. Your books will be passed down from genertaion to generation for the next to savor and enjoy. Thank you for adding to my pure joy of reading. Have a great day.

Terri Ann Armstrong, Author
