it does say that Charlie was raised without religion because his parents were raised with too much of it. It also says that Mary Elizabeth is Budhist. That's all I know.
Real life is offensive to most religions.
i don't think these could be the reasons they banned the book. actually; why did they ban the book in the first place? i've read it and there's nothing in it that indicates that the book should be banned. :)
There are people who aren't religious that dislike it or find it offensive. There are people who are religious who do like it. I think this book isn't at all 'preachy', so that's why I like it- even though I'm part of a religion.
