Kelli While I really love both of these novels I couldn't possibly have said it better myself.

Mary I think comparing Jane to Elizabeth is like trying to compare two beloved sisters. You love each of them for different reasons. I would disagree with one point though. I would not classify P & P as Regency even though it was published then. Austen began the book in 1796. The Regency era did not begin until 1810. She revised it for publication later, but the essential story was set at the turn of the century.

Zara Lavoris That may be so, but Jane is someone who went for what was right, rather than what she felt, which is a stronger act of bravery than I think any of us can lay claim to.
