Well its certainly tragic. If there is romance then it would be hard to say it is between Daisy and Gatsby...maybe between Daisy and her wealth or Tom and his status in society...
i thought gatsby was more in love with the idea of Daisy and her lifestyle, he can't see past his illusion into her real life and the fact she can't be the person he wants her to be.
