Wheel of time has some slow moments. I myself generally write in a similar style with my works. The Demon King by Chima is also slow for a different reason, but I enjoyed the read overall.
Fabian- I'm not sure when you think this was written but it was 1954. And yes we had tv for more than 20 years and film for 50. I do agree with the rest of your post however.
