The reason this may not have come across in the text is because the hawthorn and the mulberry are dead by CE 1005, when events of Priory take place, so we don’t really see them in action. Both gave small amounts of siden through their fruit when they were alive. As we find out in Priory, both trees also offered immortality to certain people, who were known as the Firstblood.
