Mheep Gill Yes, I think Romeo and Juliet dying are there own fault, but they are naive teenagers, they think that just because their lover is sick, they need to be sick, and if they died then they have no reason to live. They don't know about life, like the other wonders in the world, and that you can always get another lover, etc. So yes, they have died of their own decision but they don't know any better, like how life really is. As it states, "With Rosaline, my ghostly father? No, /I have forgot that name, and that name's woe (Act 2 Scene 3, Lines 45 - 46). This is showing that how quickly Romeo changed his love from Rosaline to Juliet, saying that he completely forgot about that girl, even though mostly in Act 1 he was only thinking about her. This is why they needed to be taught theses things, other wise they would do foolish things, like killing themselves.
