Clinton Bush You assume that she is, indeed, a victim. That very assumption is the topic of debate here. I am cetain that, given proof of her story, there would be very little victim-blaming taking place.

Jon Hartley Clinton, you may not believe Tara, but what about her brother Tyler? He said himself in his Amazon review that she had indeed suffered abuse and had nothing to add to those portions of the book.

As for the proof, what kind of proof would you like? Her ex-boyfriend was there when she received the death threats at Cambridge, Tyler corroborates the abuse in the home, it's not like she had a smartphone livestreaming her having her head stuck into a toilet at the time. You sound like her father asking for "proof," knowing full well there's no way to provide proof of abuse after the fact and that he could then ignore the problem and not take action.

Elise I think we should always question, just because someone claims to be a victim we should never turn off our critical thinking. It's dangerous to suggest that we have no right to question. Now, I tend to believe Tara. I tend to believe she is telling the truth to the best of her capabilities. However probably there are pieces of the puzzle that are outside her capacity at the time of writing.

Richard Chappell If you read Tyler's comments, then you didn't read them fully. Tyler said there is no doubt there was abuse and neglect, but "I was removed quite far from the family when most of those events took place, and for the most part they are not entirely clear in my mind. " In addition, he specifically stated he wouldn't add because he didn't have a clear picture of those events. Again, from his comments " I intend to restrict my narrative here to my personal experiences or actual events for which I have clear accounts"
He then specifically disagrees with her account on events he was involved with. Throughout, she has a number of other little omissions of details to make the story seem more extreme. So much of the story doesn't jibe with the reality.
