I totally agree. Ben didn't like Diondra when he was a teenager, so it doesn't make sense that he would have spent all those years in prison being quiet to protect her. And it doesn't help his child to protect Diondra, really, because that way the child is stuck with Diondra and Diondra is an evil, selfish, psychopath! So that part of it doesn't really add up to me. If he had seemed really in love with her as a teenager then it would have made more sense.
