Eman Ahmed can't agree more. terror made him cruel and as percy weasley taught us that no career is worth our family, we should connect this a bit. he did everything for his family. draco is like snow, it's cruel and cold to begin with, as his family taught him, but it's somehow beautiful, and you miss it when it's not there. and if you hold it in your hand long enough and close enough, it changes. it melts. all he needed was love and a better family, all he needed was care, but his parents made him merciless. but still he loved his family. HE MADE ALL THE WRONG CHOICES FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS. most people are not born evil, and that situations force them to, this is what he taught me. as harry potter series continue to influence us and the story of love and dark magic goes on, the story of draco in the background teaches us what life is and the bitter truths about it. no one noticed his tears, no one noticed his sadness, no one noticed his pain, but they all noticed his mistake. when harry, was in trouble molly came to sirius shouting that he was just a boy and we all agree to it. but when draco was forced to work for the dark lord, no one realized that he too was a boy, nor did anyone force the fact that narcissa went crying to snape and saying he was just a boy. but he had to do it for his family. he couldn't turn back even if he wanted to, which he wanted. draco malfoy is proof that fear changes people. it is written in half- blood prince that harry saw him crying and shouting that he couldn't do it anymore and that no one could help him. myrtle also told ron and harry that there was a boy who came here and cried. it wasn't his fault that he was born in a family full of death eaters. no one knew or understand the struggle he had to go through and rowling has stated that he had feelings for hermione but couldn't express them because of his family. so he also lost his gryffindor princess due to blood prejudice. can you name a person more broken than draco malfoy? and what's more, he was broken and refused to admit it. he was the strongest person, he laughed and made jokes on others and hid his pain, how would anyone feel if it happened to one. how would you feel? would u be able to cope with it? how many have committed sucuide due to this reason, can u count? and the fact that dracos' wand has a unicorn hair core is tragic. rowling told that unicorn hair was the hardest to turn towards dark arts, and it goes to say that his wand tried as hard as he did to steer away from the dark art but neither had a choice because of a power greater than their own combined, a power that they were tied to by choice or not , forced them down a road they didn't want. o u can't even blame him if he showed interest in it and just before snape killed dumbledoor, if u might have noticed, dumbledoor said that the way draco had tried, he would assume he hadn't even put his whole heart in it(poisoning ron and cursing katie). what if that was true? what if he didn't mean harm to him? he taught us the danger of loyalty and things that only grown ups understand. and we all know that narcissa's love for draco saved harry so indirectly, i think it would not be wrong to sat that harry was saved once due to draco. dumbledoor quotes that we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy. i think draco followed that, though he said it to harry but was draco was a living and walking proof of that. roewling also told that after the battle of hogwarts, the only person draco ever confessed the true extent of how much he had wanted harry to be his friend was astoria. she tried and tried to get him to make an attempt at becoming harry's friend especially after discovering that the potters had a son about the same age as scorpius. but draco always resisted telling her that he didn't deserve harry's friendship after all that he had done to him. how mpre broken can a person be? he taught me that growth is painful, change is painful but nothing is as painful as staying somewhere forcefully where you don't belong. and i think the expressions on draco's face after snape kills dumbledoor explain everything. who says he was not underrated? if anyone does, you don't completely understand harry potter.
