Same! I wanted to like her because she ends up with Harry and all, but it was just impossible! J.K. Rowling really tried way too hard to make Ginny perfect for Harry out of nowhere, that she ended up being like a Mary Sue.
Yes, I agree it was quite sudden. Unlike Ron and Hermione, where you could see their relationship building up, especially in the sixth book, this sort of came out of nowhere.
