I laught at the comment of "sha WAS the worst". I think to really see cathy's character you have to look into her relationship with her father: sweet yet demanding. She needed boundaries, those that neither Heathcliff nor Edgar gave. They just let her toy around with them, because they loved her that much in the way they could.
