That's what mental illness does to you. You don't think about others because you're constantly stuck in an endless void. You don't see the people who love you, and while Finch should have gotten help it's not as easy as 1, 2, 3. Your mind will convince you you're fine until it all blows up and you think you have nowhere else to go but down.
yes I agree, although violet and finch seemed almost perfect together, violet had college and a possibility of a future family. Finch was too lost to care anymore, he didn't care for school or having family, he didn't care for his own life. If he hadn't killed himself I feel as though he would have lived with ache in his gut telling him to just walk away from everything he's every loved even the slightest.

I think that it's important for people to realize that people with a mental illness still deserve to find love. Nobody is perfect. Everybody deserves to be loved for who they are. Yes being with someone with a mental illness may be hard, but so can being with someone without a mental illness. There's good times and bad times in every relationship. If the person rejects help though like Finch does, there's only so much to what a person can put up with. I a way I think that Finch is quite selfish. Even though he can't help having an illness, he knows there's something not quite right with him, but he won't get help and doesn't think about how his behavior impacts Violet and he doesn't think about her when he commits suicide.
