What a crock. I get so tired of people putting down "kids today." I was fortunate enough to award 6 scholarships yesterday to graduating high school seniors. These students attend a lower income school, yet they do community service (necessary for my scholarships), take AP courses, are involved in extra-curricular activities and have part time jobs. They still have time to discuss books with me. I am so tired of people assuming that the past was such a wonderful time and place and that the current high school generation is always going to hell in a hand basket. That is just lazy commentary.
Wow! I am generally torn between the feeling that people today do suffer from a shortened attention span and the sheer admiration of people such as yourself who work with high achieving, under privileged individuals. You go, woman!
