I've been arguing this basic point on a couple other threads here and another site as well. It's like talking to a brick wall with some of these fanatics though...

Catriona Balfe is a better Claire than Diana Gabaldon wrote? I have to disagree. While I'm not a huge fan of the books, the series has been passable and occassionally enjoyable - except for Ms Balfe turning Claire from a gutsy if somewhat stupidly headstrong woman into something so whiny and annoying I just want to slap it.
