I basically skipped his lines.. he never really says anything that interesting
I struggled with the book and I could have given up half way through. I made myself read the other half but found it a bit of a slog...persevered because we were visiting the area on the way up to the Lakes. So went to the museum/vicarage where the Bronte's lived. I was so wanting to see the moors and surrounding area and that did not disappoint. I'm glad I read the book but I might buy the audible version and let someone read it to me. I much prefer the writing's of Austin & George Elliott (Middlemarch) I wanted to love WH but failed to but there is a bit of a draw to read it again...I suppose I am trying to have my mind changed by reading it again....will it happen though...I some how doubt it, but perhaps if I was able to sit out there on the moors on a good clear day I might start the book again...I loved the atmosphere the book produced of the moors and dark cold houses.....I found the people hard to warm too. But it is a dark moody book.
