I'm just curious, what do you think Rick Riordan does that compares to Rowling, and are you sure? The PJ books were enjoyable, but didn't seem nearly as meaty.
Hello, sorry for not replying sooner! I agree that Rick Riordan does not have as much when it comes to "meat" as J.K. Rowling does, but he does have interconnected spin offs such as the Kane Chronicles, etc and extra stories that are not included in the main books. Magnus Chase will most likely also connect to the Percy Jackson characters in some way. J.K. Rowling put most of her material into the main books. Personally, I think that Rick Riordan and J.K. Rowling both are really good at setting up characters and developing/exploring those characters. They are both also good at creating good interpersonal character relationships and setting up worlds that are "addicting" and exciting.
Agreed, both Rowling and Riordan's worlds feel more personal as opposed to books like LOTR, which can be described better as grand. You feel like you know the characters better and they're more down to earth. I like how Rick Riordan connects all his stories too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I like talking about stories.
Yeah. LOTR does have a very grand world. It seems limitless. Thanks for replying to me! The next best thing to reading is talking about what you've read. :)
