I was just going to mention that. While reading the book, I came across that scene and it had me laughing so hard my eyes were watering. Something about the comparisons between a possessed herd of pigs and a “brood of tigers” just makes me laugh whenever I think about it.

Most people say the book is dark and brooding, but spots of comedy can actually make the darker parts all the more effective.

I like how when the dogs are in a frenzy, and Lockwood calls out for aid, how he says, Mr. Heathcliff and his man climbed the cellar steps with vexatious phlegm: I don’t think they moved one second faster than usual...
