***MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD*** Nevvie killed her as she distracted Alice to think they needed her help with something. Nevvie took Jenna away, covered her mouth, and hit her with a rock. Alice figures this out, finds dead Jenna and seeks revenge on Nevvie when in fact, Nevvie is seeking revenge on Alice for her infidelity with Gideon and the suicide of her daughter, Gideon's wife who had PCOS and realized Gideon was cheating on her. The elephant trampling killed Nevvie. Alice became unconscious from Nevvie but didn't die. She woke up in the hospital perfectly fine and fled for fear she'd be caught red handed. So the elephant trampling was a tragedy, but not on Jenna but the result of Jenna's life. I hope that makes sense. It's a bit sticky and tangling but shattered my knowledge when I reached the end!
And then who buried Jenna? Is it the elephant too? *feel like missing some details*
Yes, I suspected the elephant (Maurie I believe) does because she is so connected with Jenna. Thus the whole elephant metaphor of the story ties in with this.
Jenna was killed by Nevvie out of revenge for her own daughter's suicide.
