THG was published in 2008; Divergent in 2011. Depending on what Roth meant by "years," there's still a window opportunity for inspiration.
I agree, Kimberly. To be perfectly honest I don't know why everyone wants to compare every knew dystopian book to The Hunger Games but we really shouldn't because its not The Hunger Games was the first dystopian book just happened to be something really good that people of all ages could connect to.

I agree, Kimberly.
