Hi there Dave. I loved reading your blog post. Just like it did for you, the title of the book made me all set for an amazing ride. However, the disappointment set in early on. As someone in your blog pointed out, it looks like Neil tries too hard to push all of the reader's buttons at the same time. The second Neil starts realizing that things are slowing down, he throws something extra and completely unnecessary into the frying pan. What's worse? It takes next to no effort to defeat Ursula. It was, as I have myself written earlier, very badly planned out. Being a writer myself, I could not help but feel sorry for an amazing premise gone wasted.

I found it interesting what you said about Gaiman being at better form on his comic books but not his prose. I have not read other stuff by him but maybe I'll give the comic books a try.
