Jon My thoughts exactly. People just like to troll.

Sampark Sharma I didn't ask you to justify the book to me. I asked you to justify the hype; which is formed by a general consensus, not by individual opinions. I understand that every person feels differently about the same book.

Jon You just explained it yourself. Part of the hype is just hype, PR budgets devoted to generating interest, blog tours and conventions to put his face on the radar of the greater masses, street teams and fan sites giving their own signal boost and that's not even taking into account that being a Gaiman novel draws attention in and of itself.

The rest of it is just popular opinion, and in this case the majority think it's a great book and praise it to their friends.

Sampark Sharma Exactly! But that does not mean that hype is devoid of any reason. There's only so much hype and interest a good PR Manager can garner for you. The rest of it is word-of-mouth. And if good things are being said about it, I want to know why; not out of 'trollism', but only out of curiosity.

Jon You have half a dozen explanations in this thread already. If you can't garner an answer to your question from those then I can't do anything more.

Sampark Sharma Other than accusing me of trolling?

Jon At this point either you will never understand my reasoning for why -I- like the book because you really just don't like it, or you're being willfully obstinate.

Good day, sir.
