Sampark Sharma Yes. I do realize that The Ocean At The End Of The Lane started out as a short story. Gaiman should have kept it that way. This was my first Gaiman novel and I don't think I'll be picking any other of his novels for some time. And I got it at a decent price, so no complaints there. From what I hear, it's the hardcover edition that is a bit pricey.

Steven I found this book to be similar to The Graveyard Book, which was fleshed out and had a more complete story. When you're willing to give him another chance try that or American Gods. I can't guarantee that you'll like them, but they're a better barometer for his style.

Sampark Sharma And I hear good things about Stardust too.

David Merrill This was my most satisfying Gaiman read since the comic book, Sandman. His other books are OK, but fell short for me. So, I think this is good advice. Try one of his other novels and stay away from Sandman, if you didn't like this one.
