Linda My feeling is that Hem liked FSF and felt he had talent as a writer (maybe a bit jealous
of FSF early success) but felt it was
hampered by the lifestyle he and Zelda led
among the Hollywood rich and famous,a lifestyle Hemingway seems to have had little or no respect for. He says "If he (FSF) could write a book as fine as The Great Gatsby I
was sure that he cold write an even better one. I did not know Zelda yet, and so I did not know the terrible odds that were against
him." I have to go by what Hem wrote. He liked it. (less)

Paul I've found Hemingway's writing to be relatively boring, not so what I've read of Fitzgerald. Personal taste perhaps, and both were required reading years ago when I was in high school.

Chris Gager I loved Gatsby. Feast was so-so. I need to read more of both!
