I found her quite complex because she had a lot of contrasting intentions and feelings yet her selfishness seems to surpass everything, even her love for Nick. She is also extremely smart and as she said herself, disciplined. I get Amy only to a certain extent on why she would hate Nick and take revenge (I mean come on, he was a pretty horrible husband after she sacrificed everything for him. He cheated on her while she was missing!) Do I condone what she did? For the sake of fiction and a good story, yes it was pretty fucking awesome what she did. If this was real life and real news, of course not! Her extreme actions are not justified but you understand a little where she's coming from, in addition to her being psychotic.
