Julia I think you're mostly right, except at the end. There's a lot of debate about why Harry didn't actually die in Book 7. Some think it's because he had all 3 hallows. I think it's because Voldemort took some of Harry's blood in the cemetery, which makes it so Harry can't die while Voldemort is alive.

Either way, neither of those conditions existed in the Chamber of Secrets. So he would have died for real if Fawks hadn't been there.

Nikole I agree. Because living horcruxes are so different, the manner of "killing" or destroying them is different as well.

I was simply saying "die" to simplify things. I really just meant the whole vision/experience/whatever with Dumbledore.
