hahahaha! Well, now I know I'm not the only one who didn't care for the book. Maybe I should start another thread about a book I really do like and see who hates that! It's all really down to a matter of personal taste isn't it? Happy Reading!
I laughed so hard at this when I first read it because, well, its so dumb its funny but then I recognized the name. Now it's not so funny anymore because Mari actually believes what she says, she wasn't being sarcastic.
I really can not tolorate someone who is prejudice. To dislike a whole group of people because of where they are on the globe is utterly despicable. Its quite shocking you feel comfortable uttering those sentiments out loud. Its more shocking that you don't feel ashamed you feel that way. And to keep on vocalizing your feelings knowing how others feel about it shows you're only out looking for a fight.
You really should take your prejudiced feelings elsewhere if you want arguments or companions who feel the same way. Good reads is not the place.
Thank you, Mrsbooks. I thought the comment was crass and picking for a fight, too.
It's a shame a discussion about a book has turned into ugly personal attacks that have nothing to do with the book's content. The Scottish people are some of the friendliest in the world. They didn't write this book so why attack them? Same for married women. That was just a pointless comment that reflects poorly on the person who wrote it. Let's keep it about the book and respect the rights to differ. If we all loved it, or all hated it, the world would be a really boring place.
Gosh, I thought the comments were very tongue in cheek and the Scottish and women. I laughed out loud. Bad me.
