Hey newbie. Welcome to Pottermore! You can find money and ingredients when you go through all the different scenes although some things are difficult to find so you have to look closely. You can also buy ingredients but that requires money. There's also the money you get at the start to pay for all your books and stuff which you should have change left over to pop over to the Apothecary. To duel someone just go to the duelling club and click on one of the houses under "Challenge a house" and it'll find someone for yo to duel.
If you have more trouble you can also go over to your house common room and ask people in your house for help. They'd be happy to help a fellow [insert your house name here].
