Somerandom See Dystopian by it's very design is supposed to be about rebellion. Because dystopian societies are based on totalitarianism or at least fascism. Which stifles humanity. And having read a book in which the Government does win, it's kind of crushing to read. lol

an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one.
Generally this means that the characters are living in a very difficult society and have to overthrow the government for society to be able to function.
Dystopia is also post-apocalyptic novels, like the zombie/alien invasion/ end of the world, so there are plenty of books about that, and generally the government has disappeared. There is usually some narcissist who tries to control the remains of humanity, but it is a very different concept.
