I agree with you, but the analogy of recipe to a film production of a book is not quite close. I would say watching a film made on a book could be quite an exhilarating experience on its own, but it nevertheless is the tale told by someone else, like someone demonstrating through enactment about what actually happened.

Actually I read so many books with well over 500 pages - I did classics at school so tend to read more modern stuff now, or non-fiction in a wide variety of subjects. I get your point though - it made me smile. Yeah, I was in a bit of a rush and misinterpreted what you were saying ;)
