Ancar

First fully introduced in Arrow's Fall Ancar was the prince of neighboring Hardorn (to the East of Valdemar). He was picked a potential suitor to Princess Elspeth by the Council of Valdemar, however when Heralds Talia and Kris went to investigate prior to an official engagement, Ancar murdered his father in a coup, killed Kris, and kidnapped and tortured Talia. Hulda (Elspeth's nurse in Arrows of the Queen also appears to be his mentor/lover. In By the Sword and the Winds series Hardorn is at war with Valdemar due to Ancar's desire to kill Selenay, Talia, and Elspeth (and to annex the country). …more
