Ruby Landry

The main character. Raised by her maternal grandparents, she discovers that her father is Pierre Dumas, a Creole from New Orleans who had an affair with her mother, Gabrielle. She also discovers that her first love, Paul, is her half-brother. Her mother died giving birth to her and her twin sister, Giselle. When she moves into the Dumas residence, she falls in love with Beau.
