John Thomson
John Thomson is a historian, public servant and farmer. He worked in the Countryside Commission for England and Wales, the Department of the Environment and in the Planning administration of the Scottish Office. In 1991, he was appointed Director of Policy at Scottish Natural Heritage. After retirement, he chaired Action to Protect Rural Scotland.
He farms cattle in Galloway.
