James Grainger
James Grainger was a Scottish weaver and radical, and leader of the strike by the Calton weavers in 1787. He was supposedly associated with the clandestine United Scotsmen, a radical political movement with an overall goal combining increased democratisation and the breakup of the Union heavily modelled on the United Irishmen.
